OpenOffice installation in RedHat Linux-7

 OpenOffice installation in RHEL-7:

We use Microsoft office in Windows. Same as we use OpenOffice in RedHat Linux. 

Procedure is given below:

[root@itbd ~]# yum  install  https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm

[root@itbd ~]# yum  update

[root@itbd ~]# yum  repolist all

[root@itbd ~]# yum  repoinfo epel

[root@itbd ~]# mkdir  /mnt/office

[root@itbd ~]# cd  /mnt/office/

[root@itbd office]#  wget  http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.1.2/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.2_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz/download -O Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.2_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz

[root@itbd office]#  tar  -xvf  Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.2_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz 

[root@itbd office]#  cd  en-US/

[root@itbd en-US]# rpm  -Uvh RPMS/*.rpm RPMS/desktop-integration/openoffice4.1.2-redhat-*.rpm

[root@itbd en-US]# init 6

[root@itbd ~]# openoffice4

        Next
